The relationship between China and Japan is now back on track, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday. He pointed out that the two sides are promoting cooperation in various fields, specifically in the economy.
Wang made the remarks during the fifth high-level economic dialogue, co-chaired by both China and Japan, along with the presence of Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono.
"In terms of our economic activities, we are seeing deeper, more vibrant and stronger ties, in many more fields now," Wang said.

Wang emphasized that China and Japan are important neighbors to each other. Both sides should shoulder significant responsibilities in building an open world economy and maintaining stable regional development.
The Chinese official added that the two sides should promote bilateral investment and trade cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and actively explore third-party cooperation and regional cooperation.
The two should consolidate the achievements made in six major areas including energy conservation, environmental protection, technological innovation and high-end manufacturing to jointly create a fair, just and non-discriminatory business environment, Wang added.

Kono emphasized that both Japan and China are important economies in the world, deepening cooperation benefits, not just the duo, but the world at large. Economic cooperation has been the driving force of Japan-China ties, he said, adding that Tokyo hopes to advance communication with China in advancing the management of the global economy.
The two leaders also attended the opening ceremony for the "China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year" event.
Wang called on young people from both sides to join their special friendship mission and learn more about each other's culture.
Kono echoed, hoping to see more people-to-people exchanges take place between the two nations in the years to come.
The two sides also held talks on Monday.
