China's Mount Fanjingshan was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in the 42nd Session of World Heritage Committee Meeting on July 2. It is renowned for housing a diverse array of flora and fauna and has been dubbed the “the gene database” of China. At least 95 percent of the mountain is covered with forest.
