The relevant offices and personnel responsible for Chinese actress Fan Bingbing's tax evasion case have been held accountable by Jiangsu Provincial Tax Service, State Administration of Taxation (SAT) on Monday.
The Wuxi Municipal Office, SAT was ordered to make a deep inspection and take concrete measures to rectify the case, with several main officials involved been given severe punishments or demerit records for ineffective management.
In June, Fan was accused of signing two contracts, known as "yin-yang contracts," one of which is public and used for taxes, and the other is kept off the record. She was ordered to pay 884 million yuan (about 128.6 million US dollars) in back taxes and fines, following the probe conducted by the tax bureau of Jiangsu.
