The death toll from Monday's landslide on the outskirts of Sierra Leone's capital Freetown is now at least 400, with 600 still missing.
More than 30,000 people have lost their homes. The Red Cross has made an urgent appeal for medical supplies and action to prevent epidemics. Britain has promised some 6 million US dollars. And China says it will provide one million US dollars worth of emergency humanitarian aid. Chinese medical teams in the country are working to prevent possible outbreaks of disease.
