Mount Fanjingshan, located in China's mountainous Guizhou Province, is a grand display of biodiversity in southwestern China. It is the home of more than 2,000 species of plants and 801 species of animals. It has been designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the dense forests of Mount Fanjingshan reside many endangered species. The mountain is the only home for the endemic gray snub-nosed monkey, which only has a wild population of 800 in the world. Other rare species like the Chinese giant salamander, the forest musk deer, the Tibetan macaque and the Reeve's pheasant also inhabit this natural wonderland.
CGTN Nature's documentary crew is currently filming at Mount Fanjingshan. The footage they've sent back provide us with a glimpse of this heaven on Earth. More stunning videos of the mountain are coming soon, so please follow our updates!
