The Asian men's 100m sprint record's holder Su Bingtian launched his first lesson as an associate professor at the Run Shaw Stadium in Jinan University, Guangzhou on Monday.
Su graduated from Jinan University with a master's degree of International Economy and Trade in 2017. After that, he started to work for the university. His current identity is the associate professor of the Sports Academy.

Recently, the nominally retired sprinter who just won the gold medal in Asian Games was selected to the national team again. In the spare time between the sessions of training, Su went back to the university and set an open course facing all students in the campus on how to warm up before starting to do sports.
In the class, Su explained the basic knowledge about the warming-up exercise by words and deeds, and demonstrated the technical points in the start of sprinting. He gave tips to the students one on one.

At the end of the lesson, he told students, "I train every day, but I really lack of teaching experience. Thanks for your cooperation!" After the class, he said that he felt relaxed for this fresh attempt as the students were all very dedicated.
"Before, when I was a professional athlete, my nerves were always high-strung. But at the moment, I come back to university to be a sport teacher, I feel much easier."
Su used to hesitate to be a coach or a teacher after "retiring" from sprint career, but considering that there's no more difference in the schedule for coach comparing with the athlete, he chose to be a teacher to give more time to his family.

Now, even Su's identity changed, he's still busy before the 2020 Olympic Games. After class, he will go right back to join the enclosed train with the national team, preparing for the 2019 Doha World Championships in Athletics in September. He will also take part in the 2020 World Indoor Championships in Athletics in Nanjing.
The 29-year-old suggested that in principle he will thoroughly be away from the track after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but he would like to attend the 2021 Eugene World Championships in Athletics because that was where he broke into 10 seconds of 100m sprint for the first time.
