China's Wang Manyu and Zhu Yuling beat Kim Song I of the DPRK and South Korea's Suh Hyo-won in the opening round of the women's doubles event at the Seamaster 2018 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Tour Platinum Korea Open.
In a tight game, No.3 seeds Wang and Zhu eventually edged out the unified Korean duo 3-2 (10-12, 11-5, 3-11, 12-10, 11-9).
"Even though we lost, I don't mind because we will improve. If we get to play together in the future, I hope we do better and achieve our goals in the competition," said Suh.
The Korea Open kicked off on Tuesday and lasts until Sunday. It is being held in South Korea's central city of Daejeon, located some 160 km south of the capital Seoul.
