Ningxia's road to innovation: Ningxia transports surplus power from the west to the east of China via ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission lines. It is home to the world's biggest single CTL (coal-to-liquid) project, turning over 20 million tonnes of coal into 4 million tonnes of oil products annually. The region is also developing cloud computing industry, attracting over 140 cloud computing companies including Amazon.
