Chinese fugitive gives himself up after 17 years on the run

An economic fugitive has returned to China and turned himself in on Friday after having fled overseas for 17 years, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said on Saturday.
Li Jianxiong, who previously worked as the former head of a real estate transaction department in Foshan City in south China's Guangdong Province, fled overseas before authorities began an investigation into him on suspicion of corruption.
