US First Lady Melania Trump has returned to
the White House on Saturday after recovering from a kidney procedure, her
office said. To welcome his wife home, US President Donald Trump tweeted the
news but initially misspelled her name.
“Great to have our incredible First Lady back home in the White House,” Trump wrote. “Melanie is feeling and doing really well. Thank you for all of your prayers and best wishes!”

After realizing the typo, Trump deleted the initial tweet a few minutes later and sent a new message with the same content but the correct spelling.
“I should say, and many of us talked about the fact that autocorrect often changes the name,” CNN correspondent Ryan Nobles commented. “But probably not a good idea to misspell your wife’s name, especially on a platform that big.”
The US President visited his wife at the Walter Reed Medical Center for the past few days and tweeted to give an update on the successful procedure.

Melania Trump, 48,
underwent an embolization procedure on Monday to treat a benign kidney condition. The surgical procedure was a minimally invasive procedure often used to block the flow of blood to a tumor or an abnormal area of tissue.
The First Lady’s communications director Stephanie Grisham confirmed in a statement that Melania Trump returned to the White House on Saturday morning.
“She is resting comfortably and remains in high spirits,” Grisham said. “Our office has received thousands of calls and emails wishing Mrs. Trump well, and we thank everyone who has taken the time to reach out.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump tweeted that his wife was “doing really well” and would be “leaving hospital in two or three days.” Questions and concerns thus arose as to why Mrs. Trump’s departure date was postponed.
The spokeswoman, however, refused to give further details on Melania Trump’s health condition, responding that the US First Lady is receiving professional care from her medical team and asked for privacy.
Melania Trump has not appeared in public after the procedure, but has tweeted on Wednesday to express appreciation toward the hospital staff and hoped to return home soon.

She is the first US First Lady to receive intense medical treatment while in the White House since Nancy Reagan, who had a mastectomy in October 1987, CNN reports.
