The man being held on suspicion of terrorist offenses after Tuesday's car crash attack outside Britain's parliament is named as Salih Khater, according to local media citing government sources.
The 29-year-old is a British citizen of Sudanese origin who lives in Birmingham.
He was arrested at the scene after driving his car over cyclists and pedestrians before ramming the vehicle into barriers outside the Houses of Parliament, injuring three people.
Government sources said he's not previously known to intelligence agencies and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
