Xi: China should study Marxism's people-centered philosophy

"To learn from Marx, we must learn and practice Marxism on the general law of human social development," said Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during a speech at a conference to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx on Friday morning in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
"To learn from Marx, we must learn and practice Marxism about productive forces and the relations of production," Xi added.
Xi stressed that learning from Marxism, "we must learn and practice Marxism on the construction of political party" and "on world history."
"We should learn and practice Marx's thoughts on cultural construction, on social construction and on relations between human and nature," Xi noted. "We should study and practice Marxist thought on people's democracy."
Meanwhile, Xi stressed that Marxism is also confronted with new trends and requirements in practice, it also needs to be further adapted to China, further attuned to contemporary needs, and further popularized.
