‍Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Friday that there is huge potential in China-Russia cooperation and China will seek to expand more cooperative areas with Russia in the future.
Li made the remarks at a press conference Friday in Beijing after the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, concluded its annual session.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia diplomatic relationship, said Li, adding that bilateral ties have taken an extraordinary journey in the past seven decades
In spite of the downturn in global trade growth last year, two-way trade between China and Russia exceeded 100 billion U.S. dollars for the first time, Li noted.
Next, we need to work together to further expand cooperative areas, Li added.
"For example, we may continue to focus on cooperation on big projects, enhance cooperation on smaller firms and cross-border e-commerce platforms, boost collaboration in aerospace and strengthen exchanges between the two peoples," said the premier.
