In the CBA finals, the Guangdong Southern Tigers  are one game away from a record-extending 9th title and the first since 2013 after a 128-118 win on the road against the Xinjiang Flying Tigers on Wednesday.
At tip-off, Xinjiang's Korambek Makan clashed with Guangdong's Zhao Rui forcing the visiting point guard off the court in the early stages.
Xinjiang's offense got a major boost from Kay Felder in the first quarter. Some nice long shooting from the American got his team on the board as they continued to press. Subsequently, Korambek added three, and the Flying Tigers had a quick 9-3 lead.
But Guangdong came back as Yi Jianlian added two.
Then MarShon Brooks spun in the paint to put the visitors 20-16 in the lead.
In the second quarter, Guangdong had some problems in attack and didn't score in the first five minutes. The home side's Abdusalam Abudurexiti made them pay for the missed chances.
Xinjiang then went into a 59-48 lead thanks to Felder. However, Guangdong began to fight back and Xu Jie had a nice three from the corner, followed by a jumper from Brooks. The deficit was 60-67.

Zhao returned to the court in the second half and he, along with Yi, landed consecutive threes to make it a two-point game.
Meanwhile, Su Wei scored four straight points to help Guangdong retake the lead 77-75. It was then 91-88 thanks to Sonny Weems.
Xinjiang's offense was bogged down in the fourth quarter where they missed the first five shots, only to see Guangdong extend the lead to 10 points, thanks to Zhou Peng.
Xinjiang were only six points behind after Yu Changdong's long distance effort.
Weems scored at key points to stabilize the situation for Guangdong. In the end, The south China side, with five players scoring in double digits, outclassed Xinjiang to ensure a win away from their coveted 9th title on Friday, also in Urumqi.
Guangdong coach Du Feng said after the morale-boosting win, "This was a very difficult game for us. Before, I told my boys that they have to play according to our rhythm and tactics. Although many players were injured, Xinjiang showed strong determination in the first half and their shooters were on fire. We protected the rebounds well after the halftime break and finally found the path to the win. Our players did a good job."
