Russian President Vladimir Putin says he's ready to look into the possibility extending a 2010 nuclear arms pact – or the so-called New START treaty – with the United States. However, while talks with Washington have yet to begin on extending the 2021 deadline, Putin said a recent phone call with the U.S. president had given him grounds for optimism.
