The United States has military bases in around 150 countries, many of them are located in the Middle East. In that region, the oldest U.S. military presence is in Bahrain, which is home to the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet. About 7,000 American troops are based in Bahrain. Qatar stations house an estimated 10,000 American military personnel.
