Former NBA star Dennis "the Worm" Rodman will be in Singapore when the summit between US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un, leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), takes place on June 12, the New York Post said on Tuesday.
Sources told the paper that Rodman will arrive in Singapore on June 11, one day before the Trump-Kim meeting that has gone through so many twists and turns in a short time. There even rumors saying that the retired small forward might even play a role during the negotiations.

In an interview in April with TMZ, a news website focusing on celebrities and entertainment stories, Rodman said that the DPRK leader did not know what kind of person Donald Trump was before he gave Kim a copy of Trump's biography, "Trump: The Art of the Deal."
"I think (Kim) didn’t realize who Donald Trump was at that time, I guess, until he started to read the book and started to get to understand him. Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are pretty much the same. I don’t want to take all the credit. I don’t want to sit there and say, ‘I did this, I did that.’ That’s not my intention,"  Rodman told TMZ.

The Worm's representative, Darren Prince, said that  Rodman had talked about going to Singapore for the meeting but has not confirmed whether he will.
"It seemed like everyone (in the US) turned on him and now things seem to be happening, so he’s just happy it’s happening. He’s just hoping for a great historic outcome," said Prince.
Rodman has been to the DPRK five times and met the country's leader Kim Jong Un more than once.

His first trip took place on February 26, 2013, as a private tour to shoot a documentary and a basketball camp for kids.
Rodman went to the DPRK that same year on September 3. He delivered gifts to Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Seol Ju. Kim watched a basketball game with Rodman and held a banquet for him before he left on September 7.
On December 19, 2013, Rodman went to the DPRK for the third time but did not meet Kim. He also said he was not interested in politics and picked players for a basketball game that was due to take place on January 8, 2014, to celebrate Kim's birthday. This trip ended on December 23.
Rodman arrived in the DPRK on January 6, 2014, for the fourth time for Kim's birthday basketball game. Several veteran NBA players and street basketball players were with him. Rodman even sang a song for Kim on January 8 before he left the country on January 13.
The Worm made his fifth DPRK visit on June 13, 2017, when he met the country's sports officials and athletes. But he did not say whether he had met Kim or not. Rodman left on June 17.
