ESPN has banned their reporters from releasing in advance through social media network the results of the 2018 NBA Draft that will take place at the Barclays Center in Brookline, New York City on Thursday, according to US sports news agency, theScore on Tuesday.
Sources within ESPN said that they made the decision in response to a request from NBA. The company itself refused to make any comments on this. Neither did the league make any replies.

That means reporters like Adrian Wojnarowski will not be able to compete for attention on with NBA on the Internet by telling people which team selected who with what pick in the Draft sooner than Adam Silver, the league's Commissioner who will open the envelope and read the results on television.
Though with or without the ban, Woj will not be delivering spoilers through social media network this year because he will appear on television for the NBA Draft as a commentator. ESPN has already prohibited any TV commentator from leaking Draft results in advance.

For years in the past, reporters have been live streaming on various social media network like Twitter about the NBA Draft, offering another option from TV for fans to learn what happened between teams and possible rookie players. The league has been looking away, but apparently, the story has changed this year.
Interestingly, the ban did not seem to stop Woj from doing his job. He wrote on Twitter Tuesday that European star player Luka Doncic was the most wanted target in the internal discussions of the Atlanta Hawks that holds the third pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Woj also mentioned that Jaren Jackson Jr. from Michigan State University and Marvin Bagley III from Duke will compete to be selected by No.3 pick if the Sacramento Kings skips Bagley with their No.2 pick.
