The "Belt and Road" International Skills Competition is underway in southwest China's Chongqing, and the final results are expected tonight. Categories range from woodworking to hairdressing, and 700 craftsmen from 44 countries and regions have been battling it out for the past week.
Cropping and sewing, hairdressing, details of the operations, as well as the final results, help decide who wins the contest.

Competitors are also learning from each other. In the joinery section, young workers from different countries and regions including China, Japan, and the UK are finally crafting their works.
"Its standard requires accuracy within 0.3 millimeters, and its size one millimeter. Pretty strict rules. It's fully implemented according to the standards of the World Skills Competition, " Chen Qiuyu, deputy referee of the competition's joinery project said.

"We learn from each other through this competition. It's a good way to know each other's advantages and disadvantages," participant Zhai Zixi said.
Organizers say textbook education can no longer prepare young people to compete in today's global economy, and the competition is aimed at helping them broaden their horizons.
