The conventional concept makes us firmly believe that all fish die without water, but the story of mudskippers would literally blow your mind. Despite being a fish species, they spends most of their time outside of water.

More surprisingly, they are good at climbing trees. They use pelvic fins as suction cups to hold on to the trees and crawl up with pectoral fins. Because of these fins, they are able to jump across muddy surfaces, sometimes as far as two feet.

The secret behind staying alive without water are gill chambers that store enough water for them to breathe.
