The Republic of Korea (ROK) said Monday it will launch a series of working-level talks with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) this week on bilateral economic projects.
It is expected that, during their planned meeting at the Peace House on Tuesday, three delegates from each side will talk about linking and modernizing cross-border railways, road and forest according to the ROK's Ministry of Unification.

They are also set to hold a meeting on forestry cooperation on July 4.
On Monday morning, the two sides held the first colonel-level talks between the two Koreas since February 2011, and discussed reconnecting military hotlines.
It was part of the efforts to implement the Panmunjom Declaration, which ROK President Moon Jae-in and DPRK's top leader Kim Jong Un signed after their first summit meeting on April 27.

It will be the first inter-Korean talks on economic cooperation. The two Koreas have held talks on military affairs, sports exchange and humanitarian issues before.
