The evidence is mounting to show that extreme weather events around the world have been triggered by human-caused global warming. The extent of flooding in southern China could be seen in Shantou City on Sept. 1, while buildings and trees are submerged in floodwaters that are two meters deep. Nearly 9 million people have been affected. Meanwhile, Typhoon Jebi, Japan's strongest typhoon in 25 years, has made landfall, bringing violent winds and heavy downpours.
