China imposes anti-dumping tariffs on Brazilian chicken

CGTN

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Friday it has set anti-dumping tariffs on broiler chicken from Brazil.

Starting from February 17, the chicken products will be subject to a tariff rate between 17.8 percent and 32.4 percent, and the tariffs will last for five years, said the MOFCOM statement.

A preliminary ruling by MOFCOM found that the dumped broilers have caused substantial damage to the Chinese industry, so it decided to take anti-dumping measures.

Meanwhile, companies that do not sell their products lower than a previously agreed upon price will be exempt from such tariffs, said MOFCOM.
