Siberia’s Lake Baikal is the world’s deepest and oldest lake. Aleksandr Shumskas, a Russian man, takes the plunge and swims 25 meters under the ice. It is traditional for Russian Orthodox Christians to take icy dips to mark the baptism of Christ on January 18. As the lake freezes over in winter, it’s also popular with skaters, particularly from the end of February until mid-March.
