Scottish snooker player John Higgins Tuesday routed his Chinese counterpart Ding Junhui in Group 7 final with three frames (70-20, 72-54 and 65-35) to qualify for the 2019 Championship League Winners' Group.
John Higgins joins Neil Robertson (Group 1), Jack Lisowski (2), Judd Trump (3), Stuart Bingham (4), Mark Selby (5), and Martin Gould (6) to compete for the championship.
They will play in one further group at the Barnsley Metrodome on Wednesday and Thursday to determine the winner of the 2019 Championship League.
The 43-year-old veteran has claimed two championships in 2017 and 2018.
“I hope it's an omen but looking at the winners' group, it's a really, really tough group. It's great to get through though and I'll be doing my best over the next couple of days. I've not had a great season so hopefully, I can play my way into form over the next couple of months,” commented Higgins.
