Sol Tattoo, a private tattoo studio in South Korea, offered the service to create cat tattoos for their owners to remind them of their cute friends when they are away from home. Having a tattoo is technically illegal in the country, and only professional doctors are qualified to do tattoos. However, due to growing pressure from the public in a campaign spearheaded by popular athletes and celebrities, the country is being encouraged to legalize private tattoos. /VCG Photo
Tombi, an orange cat, was known as the classroom cat in a Turkish primary school. Although Tombi was considered great company by students and teachers alike, it was forced to leave the campus after parents complained about potential health risks. Tombi eventually returned after the national education director launched an investigation that concluded the cat posed no such risk. /VCG Photo
Meatball, an overweight cat from the US state of Arizona, is nearly four times as heavy as an average cat, weighing 15.8 kilograms. It was sent to a local animal care center after its owner could no longer take care of it. /VCG Photo
