Lightning strike to blame for SW China's devastating forest fire

Lightning striking a tree in a mountain ridge was confirmed to be the cause of a devastating forest fire that killed 31 people in southwest China's Sichuan Province on March 30, local authorities said on Friday.
The devastating forest fire broke out at around 6 p.m. in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province on March 30 at an altitude of around 3,800 meters, where the terrain is complex with deep valleys.
