In the last edition of "The Different Perspective," Sports Scene anchor Mike Fox sat down with Zhu Jingyi, a calligraphy artist, and more importantly, an enthusiastic football fan.
His innovative calligraphic approach to this World Cup has already caught the attention of many Chinese football fans across the country through social media and his association with CGTN’s sister broadcaster CCTV5 has given a whole new dimension to their overwhelming World Cup coverage.
“I have been passionate about football, and I wanted to give a new meaning to the World Cup with my calligraphy,” Zhu told CGTN.
“I have drawn a specific poster for each of the 32 participating teams and have given a specific slogan or caption to each of them. This has become a massive hit across social media.”
He felt that there is a similarity between calligraphy and football and thus, he gets immense satisfaction while combining them both.
