Xi sends congratulatory message on opening of 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum

Chinese President Xi Jinping called on countries to make efforts to build a new type of security partnership in order to promote regional peace and stability at an annual security forum led by Beijing.
Xi said the 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum is themed “Building a New Type of Security Partnership of Equality, Mutual Trust, Cooperation and Win-Win”, and that he hopes the forum could help build consensus and promote new international relations of mutual respect, fairness, justice, cooperation and win-win.
He made the remarks in a congratulatory letter read out by Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe at the forum's opening on Thursday.

Xi said China's military is always a staunch force for world peace and stability.
In the face of emerging traditional and non-traditional security challenges in the world, China will cooperate with other countries with a more open attitude to achieve development and enhance security, and to build a community with a shared future for mankind, he said.
Formerly known as the Xiangshan Forum, the event is held annually since 2006 and aims to promote exchanges and cooperation among defense authorities, armed forces, international organizations and scholars.
