CGTN's special program Real Time China continues passing through the Xiong'an New Area: We are arriving at Dajidian Village in Baoding, Hebei Province.
The village is a crown jewel in the province – a demonstration of how fast China's rural lives have been evolving.
The history of Dajidian can be traced back to over 3,000 years ago, but it is now a modern, ecologically friendly township.

Local buildings have preserved the old taste of Chinese structures but people today still manage to blend them with modern flavor: the renovated ponds and newly designed gardens.
While the city of Baoding and Hebei Province are important industrial hubs for the country, Dajidian offers people a unique feature of natural landscape and agricultural life.
The 810 households in the village own over 200 hectares of farm land. The villagers have developed other ways rather than farming – picking fruits and experiencing farm life.

During the past four decades, China's fast economic growth and urbanization has imbalanced the relationship between man and nature.
However, the local government has attached great importance to environmental protection, one of the top priorities designated by the central government.
