"China and Namibia will promote the cooperation in infrastructure construction and capacity building within the framework of the joint building of the Belt and Road and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)," Chinese President Xi Jinping said.
President Xi made the remarks during his meeting with Namibian President Hage Geingob in Beijing on Sunday, ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the FOCAC.
China and Namibia established a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation during Geingob's state visit to China from March 28 to April 3 this year at Xi's invitation.
The Chinese president hailed that the consensus reached by both sides is being implemented in an orderly manner, and China is willing to maintain close high-level contacts with Namibia.
Geingob said Namibia firmly adheres to the one-China policy and thinks highly of jointly building the Belt and Road, noting that it is not only beneficial to communication between Asia, Africa and Europe, but also promoting Africa's industrialization.
He expressed his gratitude for China's help in implementing the wildlife conservation project.
The president also wished the 2018 Beijing Summit of the FOCAC a great success, believing it will provide more focused synergy between China and Africa.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents after their talks.
