China will adopt a series of measures to stabilize the development of foreign trade and help enterprises overcome difficulties amid trade friction, according to the Information Office of the State Council press conference on Tuesday.
"It should be emphasized that any measures taken by China to stabilize foreign trade are in line with the WTO rules," said Fu Ziying, representative of international trade negotiations and vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce.
China's imports and exports have maintained a stable trend with optimized structures. From January to August this year, China's total import and export reached 3.02 trillion US dollars, an increase of 16.1 percent.
"It shows that China's reform on economic system with supply-side reform as its core and the implementation of a series of active opening-up measures in recent years have enhanced the competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in the global market," said Fu Ziying.
"In addition, China will enable exporters to use more export credit and insurance tools to reduce corporate risks in accordance with internationally accepted rules."
"As long as we continue to adhere to economic globalization, uphold international trade liberalization, and maintain the multilateral trading system, the trend of economic cooperation between Chinese enterprises and countries around the world is irreversible," Fu added.
