French President Emmanuel Macron has overseen many changes during his first year in office, from tackling new reforms to smoothing over relations with the US. His ambitious nature has been received with both praise and criticism domestically and internationally.
The former investment banker, who before walking into the Elysée Palace had little political experience, took the world by storm in May 2017 when he won the majority in France's presidential election, becoming the country's youngest leader since Napoleon. His win was supposed to mark the beginning of the economic revitalization that France needed, but fast forward a year and his presence in France is becoming less and less favorable.
Macron is a recurrent name in media headlines, but can you tell which of these popular news stories from his first year in office are true, and which are false?
