China has stayed committed to an independent foreign policy of peace, peaceful development and a win-win strategy of opening-up over the past 40 years, Chinese President Xi Jinping said while addressing a gathering at an event to celebrate 40 years of China's reform and opening-up policy in Beijing's Great Hall of the People on December 18.
