South Sudan's ambassador to China John Andruga Duku has witnessed huge opportunities for the country at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
"We are hundred percent sure this will bring opportunities for us to open 'windows', open 'doors'," said Duku.

Born in 2011, South Sudan is the youngest country in the world. The ambassador introduced the items they are showcasing and expressed the meaning of the CIIE to them.
"For us, as a young country, it's an experience. But we need to see challenges, and these challenges give us opportunities to learn. We are here to show the world, and show to China, that South Sudan is a country that is not all about war, and that South Sudan is a county that has the potential to contribute to humanity. South Sudan can contribute to the stability of the region."

The ambassador also commented on the criticism of China's policies in Africa, saying that China is offering a helping hand to African countries.
"China is doing tremendous work in encouraging countries like South Sudan to participate. We are grateful to the Chinese government for facilitating this."
"The difference between China's involvement and [that of] other countries is that China does not interfere in the political affair of Africa," said the ambassador. "China does not put slogan of human right and democracy."
"We hope the rest of the world will not undermine the vision of President Xi, of Belt and Road, of shared value, because these initiatives are very good for humanity, and more and more countries are beginning to see it," Duku added.
