Throughout its 40 years of reform and opening-up, China has lifted more than 700 million people out of poverty. As a historic achievement, China’s poverty alleviation is recognized by other developing countries, especially in Africa.
At the recent Wanshou Forum in Beijing, more than 60 party leaders, scholars and journalists from 12 African countries discussed "Targeted Poverty Alleviation and China-Africa Cooperation."
Before the forum, African delegations traveled to China's less-developed regions, such as rural areas in Henan Province, learning about the policies and methods driving China's rapid development.

China advocates building a community with a shared future for humanity. Eliminating poverty has been the shared goal and historic mission for both Chinese and African people.
China-Africa cooperation on poverty alleviation can facilitate Africa's development.
According to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the key to successful poverty alleviation lies in precision, or targeted methods, which mean that different strategies of poverty alleviation should be employed based on different conditions throughout China.
Similarly, in order to gain from the Chinese experience, Africa should learn to apply customized poverty-alleviation models to different areas based on local conditions.
