Shunde District of Foshan City, south China's Guangdong Province, is synonymous with scrumptiousness. It's the cradle of Cantonese cuisine, the birthplace of the buffalo milk dessert called "shuangpinai," and hometown of some of China's best chefs. While Shunde features gastronomic delights aplenty, it also has much more to offer.

Shunde produces a unique material called "xiangyunsha," a hand-made organic silk created by using ancient techniques. You can also find one of Guangdong's "Four Great Gardens" here – the 400-year-old Qinghui Garden. Shunde's extensive waterways are perfect venues for raucous races during the Dragon Boat Festival. Trivia buffs might be interested to learn that Shunde is Bruce Lee's ancestral home and if you're a fan, a theme park known as "Bruce Lee Paradise" awaits you.
