Six-time champion Serena Williams roared into her ninth US Open final on Thursday with an emphatic 6-3, 6-0 victory over Anastasija Sevastova.
As the holder of a total 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena advances to her second consecutive Grand Slam final after coming back from maternity leave.
Williams fell behind 2-0 to Sevastova in the beginning but then soon found her way back to dominate the match as she won five games in a row and 12 of 13 to advance in her 31st single grand slam final.
The victory let Williams reach her ninth US Open singles final, who has won six titles in here, and she now has a chance to continue to seek her 24th singles major title to tie Margaret Court's 24 Grand Slams.
36-year-old Williams lost to Angelique Kerber at Wimbledon final in July, but she seems to have pushed that from her mind.

"It's honestly really incredible," she said after advancing to her second Grand Slam final of the year. In July, she had to settle with a runner-up finish at Wimbledon.
"A year ago I was fighting for my life in the hospital after I had the baby," added Williams, who battled life threatening blood clots after a difficult delivery.
Serena Williams will face either 2017 runner-up Madison Keys, the 14th seed, or Japan's Naomi Osaka for the title on Saturday.
