Shanghai airports launch CIIE service centers

With just two weeks until the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), Shanghai authorities have started to unveil airport service centers catering to the needs of visitors and exhibitors as soon as they set foot in the city.

The first of the seven facilities – four in Shanghai Pudong International Airport and three in Hongqiao International Airport – opened on Monday at the Hongqiao airport.

Located directly across the passenger exit on Terminal Two's arrival floor, the easy-to-spot service center comes with what expo-goers need to get around.

A wealth of information about the event is made available, and volunteers are on standby to answer questions regarding the best places to stay, how to get to the venue from different starting points, and how to get to the display booths and exits in the venue, among other inquiries.

All information could also be accessed through three QR codes on the expo guide map available at the service centers.

"We hope to make things more convenient, because there will be a large number of guests arriving in Shanghai. We want to impress people with hospitality and make them feel welcome by the import expo and by Shanghai," said Zhong Xiaomin, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau.

The CIIE will take place from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
