China lodges solemn representations after three nationals killed in Myanmar border violence

China has lodged solemn representations with Myanmar as three Chinese nationals were killed during weekend attacks in Myanmar between Myanmar's government troops and ethnic militants near the Chinese border, China's Ministry of National Defense said in a statement on Friday.
China’s military attaches great importance to the issue and has taken effective measures to strengthen the patrol and safety protection work of the border between China and Myanmar.
China urges relevant parties to exercise restraint for an immediate ceasefire.
The Chinese military will further strengthen border control and will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its sovereignty, according to the statement.
