President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Moon Jae-in said leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un would soon visit Seoul.

"A return visit to Seoul by Chairman Kim Jong Un will take place soon," Moon said during a speech at the National Assembly on Thursday.

"A historic starting point for co-prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia is just ahead of us. This is an opportunity that came like a miracle. This is an opportunity that we should never miss," Yonhap News Agency quoted Moon as saying.

However, Moon did not provide any other details about Kim's trip.

Following the two leaders' meeting in September in Pyongyang, Moon said Kim told him that he would visit Seoul within this year.

The two leaders have so far met three times this year, in April, May, and September, respectively at the border village of Panmunjom for the first two summits and DPRK's capital Pyongyang for the latest meeting.
