UK prosecutors have decided to drop the case against China Central Television (CCTV) Europe-based journalist Kong Linlin, the spokesperson for CCTV confirmed on Wednesday.
Kong's lawyer said the UK prosecution service re-examined her case, in which she was charged with common assault, and revoked it for lack of evidence.
A scheduled court hearing was also canceled.
The spokesman commends the UK's decision, which he asserts is based on facts.
