Chinese President Xi Jinping hailed the friendship between China and Equatorial Guinea, saying it is a fine example of South-South cooperation.
President Xi made the remarks when meeting with Equatorial Guinea's President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo in Beijing on Sunday, ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Xi said that Equatorial Guinea is a reliable partner and brother to China, and the two sides are working together to inject momentum into the comprehensive partnership.
He also vowed to deepen the sharing of experiences with Equatorial Guinea on governance, supporting each other on issues of core interests and major concern.
China welcomes Equatorial Guinea to actively participate in the joint building of the Belt and Road and encourages Chinese enterprises to participate in Equatorial Guinea's infrastructure development, President Xi added.
He also noted that the two sides should deepen cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, human resources, education, health as well as tourism, helping Equatorial Guinea realize the 2020 development plan.
Obiang said he has visited China 10 times and hailed China an "important positive force" in the international world.
He also said that Equatorial Guinea attaches great importance to its relations with China, adheres to the one-China principle and thanked China for its long-term support, believing the summit will bring more benefits to the African and Chinese people.
Equatorial Guinea is willing to learn from China and maintain close communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, Obiang noted.
