Paris Saint-Germain's Chinese star Wang Shuang has been rewarded for her fine form this season after being included among the nominations for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Player of the Year awards.
Wang's recognition comes after a year that saw her help the newly promoted Wuhan Ladies to an unexpected runner-up spot at the halfway point of the Chinese Women's Super League season, as well as securing a well-deserved transfer to the French giants PSG, where she notched four goals and four assists in 11 appearances.
Last year's winner Samantha Kerr's brilliance in Australia's march to the Asian Cup final has also been recognized by the AFC, with Lyon's Japanese midfielder Saki Kumagai making up the three-person shortlist for the women's award.
