Sports Scene's special tennis series Beyond the Baseline continued with Wang Qiang. Just two days after claiming her second WTA title at the Guangzhou Open, China's number one started her campaign in Wuhan.
After defending her title at this year's Asian Games, Wang has become the first player to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Wang told Sports Scene that it's special because she practiced tennis in Japan when she was young and she would be happy to play at the event in Tokyo.

By winning her second title in Guangzhou, Wang has become only the third player from China to win two WTA singles titles in one season, following Zheng Jie and Li Na. Wang said she would not think about the ranking but would just focus on the court and play her best tennis.
