China's Xu Yifan enters China Open doubles semifinals

In women's doubles of the ongoing China Open in Beijing, the third seeded pair of China's Xu Yifan and Canada's Gabriela Dabrowski stormed into the semi-final match with a straight set victory over the pair of Alicja Rosolska from Poland and Abigail Spears from the US in the quarter-finals.
The two pairs met earlier before, and Xu and Dabrowski eventually came out on top on Thursday at the National Tennis Center in the Chinese capital.
Firing on all cylinders from the word go, Xu and Dabrowski clinched the first set in no time with a 6-2 score line thanks to Spears' overhead error.

The second set saw some tough fights and the pairs were tied at five before Dabrowski picked off the corner to secure a crucial break.
However, the Chinese and Canadian duo soon moved to the match point.
Then, Dabrowski went deep with a lob and eventually clinched the set 7-5 to sail into the semi-finals. The win has helped the Chinese Canadian duo to qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore at the end of the month.
