Spain has named Luis Enrique as their new head coach after Fernando Hierro steps down with the team's elimination from the World Cup in Russia. Enrique has been appointed on a two-year contract.
The Federation scheduled a press conference on Monday to announce changes to the organization’s structure after Fernando Hierro, who was in charge of the team during the World Cup, left his role as sporting director.
Luis Enrique won two Liga titles, one Champions League and three King’s Cups as Barca coach between 2014 and 2017.
Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales said: "The decision was unanimous. I like his commitment and he has turned down better-paid jobs in order to coach Spain.
"He's a coach who has all the requirements the federation was looking for," Rubiales added.
