Chinese FA Cup: Shaanxi beats Xinjiang in shootout to reach last 32

Hosts Shaanxi Changan defeated Xinjiang Tianshan 6-4 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday to advance to the last 32 in the Chinese FA Cup. 
The home side, newly promoted to this level of football, currently sits third in the table.
Zhang Shuang's shot in the 14th minute went just wide and three minutes later, his header missed the target. It was 0-0 at the break.
Shaanxi took the lead four minutes into the second half through Wang Er-zhuo's thunderous effort. The visitors got level with nine minutes left when midfielder Ermek Talaphan tapped in from close range to keep his side in the hunt. 
It went to penalties and it went until Xinjiang's Zhang Ao was denied by Shaanxi's Wang Qi. It fell to Mai Sijing to score the decisive penalty. His team advanced 6-4. 
Elsewhere Shanghai Jiading, the only amateur team left, reached the last 32 after beating Zhejiang Yiteng 1-nil at home. Hebei Elite defeated Guizhou Hengfeng 2-1. Shijiazhuang Everbright got past Hohhot Zhongyou 3-1 and the Guangdong Southern Tigers lost out to Zhejiang Greentown 4-1 at home.
