However the internal situation in the two countries may evolve, the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership will remain unchanged, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang at a regular press conference on Friday.
Geng made the remarks while answering a question about a speech by Imran Ahmad Khan, who won the election for Pakistan's National Assembly on July 26.
In Khan's speech, he stressed the new administration will further enhance China-Pakistan relations, advance the building of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and learn from China its experience in anti-corruption and poverty alleviation.
Geng said China highly commends this and believes that Khan and other people from all sectors in Pakistan are staunch champions for China-Pakistan friendship.
"His remarks also fully showcase that China-Pakistan friendship is an all-weather one," Geng said, adding that this is in the common interests of the two countries and two peoples.
