‍On today's episode of Expo Pavilion Tours, we take you to the city of Chongqing in southwest China. This time, I visited Chongqing Garden twice, to experience it on both a sunny and rainy day. Well, I just can't wait to introduce my hometown to everyone. Chongqing, China's youngest municipality, is incorporating vitality into its unique landscape of mountains and rivers.

That's why the entrance is inspired by the Qutang Gorge, the most spectacular of the well-known three Gorges, where mountains, gorges and rivers all meet one another.
Through these city icons, we've arrived at the main park. Terraced fields, lakes and flowers are showcasing the greener development of Chongqing's spacious rural areas in recent years.
So, this was the garden on a beautiful sunny day. But it's worth visiting again on a rainy day since the view could be totally different and fortunately, I came on one of these days.

The traditional residential architecture is nestled on the hillside since over 70 percent of the city is covered by mountains. It has now become part of our collective memory. If you've got a chance to go upstairs on the top floor, stand there and listen to the rhythm of the falling rain like a local.
Since Chongqing is the birthplace of the spicy hotpot, we can see decorations like stoves and dishes in the garden. More than that, indigenous pepper plants are seen in the backyard.
